18-MONTH ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

Growth, Strength & Timing

18-month athlete development comparison showing changes in body composition, strength, and performance markers

Over 18 months, this athlete's transformation came from training in step with his biology. By tracking Peak Height Velocity (PHV), the period of fastest growth during adolescence, we timed training loads to match each stage of development. As growth spurts brought rapid changes in height and limb length, the program focused on mobility, coordination and movement quality to protect the body while it adapted. Once growth slowed, progressive strength training became the main driver, building skeletal muscle mass and strength while lowering body fat and improving metabolic health. The result is a stronger, more resilient athlete ready for the demands of Williston High School athletics.

The best results came from matching the training plan to the athlete’s stage of development.
